Gunnery Works is located in Woolwich, which was historically the site of the Royal Arsenal. At its peak, the Royal Arsenal covered 1,300 acres and employed c.100,000 people. Due to its strategic importance, it was typically omitted from maps and became known as the ‘Secret City’.
